This past Saturday we entered Abby in the Little Miss Lemon pageant. What an experience that was. There were cute little girls running around the place, however, it was the mothers that scared me. They were crazy. Little girls running around with makeup and their hair professionally done, blowing kisses at the judges and waiving their hands like the Queen of England.
Mothers yelling at their daughters to sit down and don't move you'll mess up your hair and makeup. Mind you these were little girls no more than 12 and some as young as under a year. All of which, we were there for some one who doesn't know these individual darling little girls to tell us who was pretty.
I will never do this again. No we didn't place because in the middle of it all we went to McDonald's to get the kids some to eat. Apparently, the judges called Abby's name because she and another little girl had tied and the tie went to the other little girl. That's all fine. I will not do this again unknowingly to Abby. I guess when she is older and she chooses to do this, I will support her, but I hope she doesn't.
It is a very strange feeling to have some one judge your child. How could they ever know just how wonderful she is in less than a minute???
