Gus is home and it was a sweet reunion. Ok, truth, Gus hasn't given me the time of the day since we got him 4 years ago unless he was out of food and water. Then he would come and rub my legs and be all sweet until he got what he wanted.
Now, I am his best friend. When I picked him up at the vet yesterday he purred so loudly that I have never heard him like that before. The vet was impressed because apparently all Gus has done at the vet is hissed at them. Well I said, you know I am not the one putting pins in his leg or sticking needles in him, so it is easy for me to be the good guy.
It is hard for him. He can't move that well and it is very much a feline/human effort to eat, lay down and go to the bathroom. He is still purring and I think he would like me to take him everywhere. I am really convinced it is the Valium. Yes, my cat is on Valium. When I went to the pharmacy yesterday they ask for the patients name and I am all like Gus. Then they said, last name please............uhhhh..........Jones??? I swear. My adventures with Gus.
He is doing great I think and I am so happy he doesn't have the lamp shade on his head. I am sure though he had rather have the lamp shade thing rather than the pin. I would too if those were my options.

Oh, poor Gus. That looks even worse than what I'd pictured. So what does he do, scoot around? He doesn't try to stand does he? Maybe you need to carry him around in a baby sling...
that'r really quite disturbing.
