WE SURVIVED GUSTAV!!!!!!

I have waited before writing another blog until I knew anything, but this evening I have found out that our home has survived. A few shingles are gone, some siding is loose, fence is leaning, but everything is great. The owner went there today to check everything out and called me to let me know. You don't know how relieved I am to know this.

I am currently here in Jacksonville. We have been here since Sunday and we are having a good time. We are going to head back to NOLA on Friday with a lay over in Pensacola that evening. Driving for 10 hours straight with 2 children and 3 animals just isn't as much fun as you might think.

I was thinking about when I get back, I need to unpack and uncover all of our things that I had protected from Gustav but then I have this little annoyance out in the Atlantic named Ike. I think I will keep my things protected a little longer. Hurricane season is over November 1st. I never really want time to fly but maybe just this time I wouldn't mind the next few weeks going a little faster.
